Ervin A. DeSmet

retired

Erv retired in 2014 after practicing law for 35 years in estate planning law, wills, trusts, probates, guardianship, elder law and small business law.  Erv has found that life after law does exist and is, in fact, quite enjoyable.  He joined a ukulele band called STRUM (Seattle’s Totally Relaxed Ukulele Musicians), which performs quite often around Puget Sound.  He also continues his clashes with salt water fish such as tarpon, bonefish, and barracuda.  Fly fishing only—catch and release so they can all fight another day.  He also continues to be active in the Woodinville Rotary Club and advises all lawyers who retire to be of service to others. No cocooning allowed.

We enjoyed having Erv as a colleague, and miss his humor and custom neckties with photos of his grandchildren on them.  That said, we are happy he is enjoying retirement and proud of his continued service to the community.
